The new movie "Shutter Island" has some serious star power. Besides Leo Dicaprio, the movie stars Sir Ben Kingsley. With her English accent firmly in-tact Deco's Shireen Sandoval sat down with sir ben for high tea and scones. Wait, shireen doesn't even like scones!
The doctor is in but after you see this movie, you may want a second opinon.
Along side Leo Dicaprio, who plays a federal marshall, sir Ben Kingsley stars as the shrink in charge of shutter island a 1950's nut house, where a patient has disappeared leaving Leo in hot pursuit.
Like most roles, Ben totally emersed himself and this time he was smokin!' .
Marty as in scorsese the director encouraged him to puff but only for his part.
Ben: " felt that, as a 1950's thing, you see many chaps, academics and doctors, directors and producers, all have the pipe clenched in their teeth."
shireen: "Right"
Ben: "As a masculine symbol"
Shireen: "An extension of the character almost, too.."
Ben: "oh absolutely."
The oscar winner hasn't smoked in years but he loved the effect of it on film.
In Hollywood, they call it "Smoke & Mirrors" at Deco we call it duct tape, make-up and a good push-up bra.
