Golden Globes Preview

It's the first big awards show that sets the tone for the oscars and setting the tone this year is someone who never sticks to the script.

For the first time in years, the Golden Globes will have a host. Chubby funster Ricky Gervais his description, not ours.

Ricky's a regular at the globes, and the Hollywood Foreign Press apparantly wanted to make up for not nominating him for "The Invention Of Lying."

Movies that did get nominated include "Up In The Air." The fellini homage "Nine."

Critical favorite "The Hurt Locker" and Quentin Tarantino's re-imagining of World War II "Inglourious Basterds."

Christoph's co-star Dianne Krueger delivered the good news at the nomination ceremony. His evil take on a reknown nazi nicknamed 'the jew hunter' earned him early buzz, but he "swears" he doesn't care.

Yeah, right.

Also nominated for supporting actor -- stanley tucci as the murderer-next-door in "the lovely bones."

The globes will be twice as nice for sandra bullock and merryl streep.
Sandra's up for "the proposal" and "the blind side." merryl for "it's complicated" and "julie and julia."
